Salsambo Dance Lessons & Entertainment is an Atlanta-based dance business specializing in Salsa, Bachata, dance instruction, parties, and event entertainment. Led by owner, creative director, and instructor Alfredo Piceno, Salsambo connects dance education with opportunities to enjoy Latin music on the social dance floor. Explore Salsambo’s services.

For us at SalsaKnox Dance Company, Salsambo is also part of our own story. Alfredo’s teaching and mentorship helped shape Waldo’s development as a dancer and influenced the journey that Waldo y Jacqui took in building their dance business in Knoxville.

Who Is Alfredo Piceno?

Alfredo Piceno is a dance instructor, performer, and choreographer whose background includes training and performing with Francisco Vasquez and Los Rumberos.

In an interview with La Voz Del Mambo, Alfredo described that experience as an important foundation for his career. He also spoke about the satisfaction of watching students progress from their first steps to becoming performers and instructors themselves. His account highlights both sides of his work: developing dancers for the stage and helping students enjoy what they learn socially. Read Alfredo’s interview.

Salsambo’s Connection to SalsaKnox Dance Company

Waldo’s connection with Salsambo began in Atlanta. His published biography records that he started training with Alfredo and Jen Piceno in 2006—an important chapter in his development as a Latin dancer. Read Waldo’s dance background.

The connection went beyond learning steps. As Waldo shared in our original Salsambo article, Alfredo also offered guidance about the dance business that helped him and Jacqui build SalsaKnox Dance Company.

That personal history is why we are sharing Salsambo’s story. Dance communities grow through teachers, students, friendships, and the knowledge passed between them. For SalsaKnox, the relationship with Alfredo is part of that history.
