He broke everything down in easy steps, tailored the moves to our ability and was always very nice and pleasant. "I love Champion Ballroom..."
I love Champion Ballroom. My girlfriend and I have been taking lessons from Rhonda for a year and a half. We dance the major dances and we have some nice steps and variations to enhance our basic steps. Everyone is pleasant and the Friday night dance parties are lots of fun. To top it all off: there are no contracts, just very low prices for the high level of instruction that we have received. I highly recommend Champion Ballroom.

About Mark Hipshire
Mark is a Knoxville native that grew up in the heart of Fort Sanders, Downtown Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee. He started dancing in 2012 at the beginning of his sophomore year at UT, taking classes with the Knoxville Swing Dance Association.
Over the next 13 years, he learned a variety of different social and partner dance styles with groups like Salsa Knox, the Knoxville Argentine Tango Society, and West Coast Swing with PJ & Lisa Turner.
His dance journey has taken him internationally as well, having taught, competed, and danced many nights away in countries like Brazil, Greece, France, and more. After spending semesters with Swing Out Studio in São Paulo, Brazil, and Tangoneón in Crete, Greece, he spent a year working with the Misfits Dance Academy in Nantes, France while completing his Master’s Degree.
In 2022, he returned to his alma mater to begin law school at UT, where he spent three years as a member of the student-run BOSS Dance Company.
Altogether, these experiences have created a fun and engaging teaching style that he brings to every class. When he’s not teaching, he dedicates himself to performance opportunities with a variety of local dance groups, including most recently with the Circle Modern Dance Company and Knox Community Street Dance.
If it hasn’t been made abundantly clear, he loves all things dance and all things Knoxville!
