When I first started going to the dance parties, I went with someone great at dancing that had showed me a few of the basic salsa and bachata moves ahead of time. I’ve always loved music but dancing never came naturally to me. I was able to dance with my friend but it was like someone learning to swim being thrown into rapids. Most of the other people dancing were using more advanced moves and there were lots of people nearby to take into account in terms of space I had to navigate in addition to dancing. I didn’t even think about how different it would be dancing with someone else and later found out that everyone dances and follows differently. Classes helped by letting me begin to get more repetition in my system for the basics, taught me some of the less basic moves, practice turns, and gave me a chance to practice dancing with a variety of people. I’m enjoying the dance parties even more now, and I can tell the classes helped already and I’ve only been through 1 round of the Level 1 classes. I’m looking forward to the Level 2 classes and being able to flow more and being a better lead at the parties.

1. What is the schedule for the 4 Week Salsa Bachata Mastery Program?
Mondays: Champion Ballroom: 4028 Papermill Dr. Knoxville, TN, 37909: 7pm Salsa Lesson and 7:45pm Bachata Lesson
Fridays: Kerns Food Hall: 2201 Kerns Rising Way, Knoxville, TN, 37920: 9pm Salsa/Bachata Lessons; 10pm to 1am SALSA PARTY

2. What do I wear to weekly classes/parties?
Weekly Classes: Comfortable clothing; no rubber bottom shoes
Weekend Parties: Anything you choose, some dress up and some don't
3. Do I have to have a partner or experience to join this Salsa Bachata Mastery Program?
No. We rotate partners. It is proven that practicing with multiple partners during lesson is highly effective in faster learning.
4. What happens after the 4 Week Program?
After this program, you will have more than enough knowledge of basic skills to be able to go to any party or event and dance the night away. Ofcourse, we do offer level 2, level 3, and beyond levels for higher level learning as well.
5. Is there a contract I have to sign?
No, this is a one time purchase. If you decide to continue after your 4 Week Program, we have options to do that as well.
6. Will I be able to social dance Salsa and Bachata after this program?
Yes, and our recommendation is to take advantage of the parties on Fridays and Saturdays as soon as you begin. This is your practice and a great way to network and meet others from classes.

The owners of SalsaKnox Dance Company, Waldo y Jacqui Solano are always looking for ways to grow themselves in self development and all areas of their lives, and we love to take that knowledge to inspire our students to do the same. We have witnessed first-hand how salsa dancing builds confidence and social connections, allowing our students to grow inside and outside of the dance floor.
9. What safety measures and policies are in place at SalsaKnox?
In order to ensure safety of our students, we always emphasize proper lead and follow techniques, connections, etc. We promote proper dance etiquette to provide a healthy and safe experience for every student. This program is for anyone who wants to learn Salsa and Bachata quickly to be able to go to any dance event and dance smoothly with any partner.
